What do you Crave… the perfect hairstyle

Can you believe August is almost over!  Cooler weather on the horizon, the back to school scurry and looking forward to new hairstyles for fall. Looking through all the new fall magazines for the perfect hairstyle and color, oh and some new makeup too.  There’s so many to choose from; what is best for me?  Do you like the trendy fashion, not too edgy but enough to get noticed look?  How do you choose the best look, there’s so many to choose from.  It’s sometimes challenging to find the right look but it is possible.  The never-ending hunt of looking like my favorite celebrity from a magazine or the red carpet, is quite a task! We are here to your rescue and have some quick tips that can help you get the look you want!

First, think positive, believe it or not attitude has a tremendous effect on one’s appearance and image.  Stand with confidence and actually think and feel you’re beautiful!   Start the process of what is the best look for you.  Comb through fashion magazines, explore different looks through pinterest, instagram and other media sites.  Compare face shapes, skin tone and facial features to help ensure that you’re choosing a hair color/cut/style that will work for you.  Then, capture your favorite looks and show them to your hairdresser.  Your hairdresser will confirm that the hair color/cut/style is best for your face shape, hair texture and then let them do their magic!

OK, what if you don’t have a hairdresser that you trust on giving you a new look.  The thought of finding a great hairdresser can be daunting. However, there’s some easy tips to help you find the right person for the job.  Check out your local salons, beauty academy and ask your friends. Typically finding a hairdresser in your area will come highly recommended by your friends or family.  This will give you peace of mind that you will be able to trust the hairdresser they recommend.  Once you decide on the perfect hairdresser, its time to schedule your consultation and show them the styles you like.  And most consultations are complimentary, so take the extra time and go in and visit with your new hairdresser before actually making the appointment. They are the expert and will help you decide which styles and colors are best for you.  Be prepared and ask lots of questions, this is your time and money.  Once you feel 100% you’re ready, go for it!

Lets talk about services at a cosmetology academy… have you ever been? Cosmetology academies offer services at reduced prices, a great way to indulge in salon services that you may not be able to afford.  It is safe; sometimes safer than the salon.  Why, you ask? Because future professionals (students) are supervised by licensed educators, so its like a bonus- two for one!  Your experience will be similar to the salon.  Schedule your appointment, come in and you’ll be greeted by a future professional, they will perform your consultation and then a licensed educator will come over and discuss the plan for your hair.  The educator is there to assist the future professional in making accurate decisions with your hair.  My family and friends come to the school and love it!  The only sacrifice you may make is time; yes, I know time is very important these days.  However, the future professional may take a little longer on your service.  With that said, it’s a great time to indulge in a manicure or pedicure at the same time you’re getting your hair serviced.  Feel like a princess or prince and it’s a win-win!
