How to Become a Manicurist or Nail Technician

Each state has slightly different requirements you need to meet in order to obtain a nail technician or manicurist license. To obtain a nail technician license in Kansas and Missouri, you must be at least 17 years old and have a high school diploma or GED. Once you’ve met these two requirements, it’s time to enroll in beauty school!

The first step to becoming a nail technician is to enroll in a nail technician program at a beauty school. Here at Crave Beauty Academy, we have two convenient campuses each with a nail technician program that meets the state’s needs. Our campus in Kansas offers a 350-hour nail technician program while our Missouri campus provides a 400-hour nail technician program.

Once you complete a nail technician program at a certified beauty school, you must sit for the state board, and then you’re well on your way to starting your career as a nail tech.
