There’s no denying that 2020 has been a crazy year. But even with all the twists and turns we’ve experienced, that doesn’t mean you have to hold off on pursuing an education you’ve always dreamed of! With our schools open and making sure students are staying safe, now is a great time to find out how you can start a beauty education.

Feeling nervous about knowing what to do as you’re getting started? We list out how you can feel prepared for a beauty education just in time for back-to-school season this year!

Schedule a Tour

A beauty school’s website is the perfect place for you to start learning more about them and the programs they offer. But there’s only one way for you to see for yourself what it’s like to be a student at that school: scheduling a tour! Not only will you be able to see what the student salon and classrooms look like but you’ll also be able to interact with beauty instructors. They’ll be there ready for you to ask questions that are specific to your beauty journey so you can receive immediate answers.

Ask for Help

This year has been stressful enough. Don’t add any more by not reaching out to those who want to help you succeed in beauty. That includes our team at Crave Beauty Academy! We understand that committing to a beauty education is a big step and there’s a lot to learn as you get started. So, don’t hesitate to reach out to us and ask any questions about financial aid options to those who qualify, career advice, or anything else related to your beauty journey. Whether it’s during your tour or as you’re just starting to consider beauty school, our team is happy to meet you wherever you’re at!

Make Multiple Goals

Sure, you may have decided that your end goal is to apply for a cosmetology program. But have you thought about what you need to make that a reality? It’s easy to feel discouraged when you make a goal that involves multiple steps to get there. Be kinder to yourself and list out small goals that you can accomplish each week as you work towards the finish line. Some goals you might have are:

  • Look up more about the beauty industry
  • Find out which beauty program fits my career needs
  • Research beauty schools that offer the program I want
  • Schedule a tour to learn about the school’s culture
  • Start the financial aid process
  • Fill out an application form

Don’t forget to reward yourself as you accomplish your goals. Our favorite way is to spend some time pampering ourselves with a new haircut, manicure, or another beauty service!

Stay Organized

Whether you’re just starting to consider beauty school or you’re a student in one of our programs, it’s always important to stay organized. Especially in 2020 when so much has disrupted our lives. The best way to stay organized is to write down what you need to do because let’s face it, you can’t remember everything. Your list could include what goals you need to accomplish this week, answers to questions you learned on your tour, or homework assignments if you’re enrolled in a beauty program. It’s a small thing to do that will make a huge difference!
